Job Description: Director of Academic Affairs
The University's General Directorate of Educational Affairs is responsible for all educational matters of students in Associate's, Non-Continuous and Continuous Bachelor's, Continuous and Non-Continuous Master's, Professional Doctorate, and Specialized Doctorate programs. The most important duties of the Director General of Educational Affairs are as follows:
* Secretary of the University's Educational Council and the organization and compilation of council resolutions.
*Preparation and dissemination of the university calendar and supervision of the organization of weekly and examination schedules for courses in various educational levels of the university.
*Planning and optimal utilization of educational and research facilities, equipment, and human resources to improve the scientific level of the university.
*Coordinating the educational activities of the university in different fields and specializations in cooperation with the heads of the faculties.
*Supervising the method of presenting courses and providing opinions on the faculties' suggestions regarding course texts and content based on the approved curriculum and syllabi.
*Reviewing and evaluating the course texts of professors to ensure their compliance with the approved curricula and syllabi.
*Preparing and organizing educational programs and course units required for teaching in each field of study within the framework of regulations.
*Providing opinions on the teaching hours, research, and scientific work of faculty members.
*Predicting the need for faculty recruitment and providing opinions on the scientific qualifications of employment candidates.
*Reviewing and providing suggestions for the revision of syllabi, the core or elective nature of course titles, and determining the content of courses, considering the latest scientific advancements, for submission to the competent authorities for approval.
*Reviewing the faculties' requests for the establishment of new fields or departments.
*Correspondence with the competent authorities to obtain permission to establish a new department or to establish and implement a new field of study.
*Cooperating with relevant units to hold training workshops for personnel working in the educational departments of the faculties.
* Performing tasks related to course revisions.
*Inquiry from the National Organization for Educational Testing regarding student admission capacity from the national entrance examination in various educational levels.
*Sending capacity declaration forms to the faculties and reviewing the capacities declared by the faculties and matching them with existing regulations.
*Following up on matters related to the final student admission capacity in each academic year.
*Cooperating in the development of executive regulations related to the field of the Vice-Chancellor for Education and Graduate Studies of the university.
*Preparing, compiling, and sending reports related to the field of the Vice-Chancellor for Education and Graduate Studies of the university to the competent authorities.
*Preparing, organizing, and maintaining approved educational programs for students in all courses of various educational levels and formulating related regulations in the form of catalogs introducing courses of all various educational levels.
*Supervising the proper implementation of regulations, circulars, and educational resolutions in the relevant units and supervising the administration of educational services in the affiliated units.
*Addressing student problems in various educational levels and assessing the shortcomings of regulations and resolutions and proposing solutions to the Vice-Chancellor for Education and Graduate Studies of the university.
*Cooperating with university and ministry officials in holding entrance examinations for universities, etc.
*Supervising the implementation of regulations regarding student transfer and guest status.
* Using statistics and information for planning, monitoring, and evaluating new and graduating students of various educational levels.
*Seeking the opinions of the faculties regarding changes in educational programs.
*Performing student registration and examination affairs in all various educational levels based on adopted policies.
*Receiving the list of admitted students from the National Organization for Educational Testing.
*Implementing the issued instructions regarding the registration of admitted students in each semester.
*Cooperating with the faculties in preparing weekly programs and sending them to the computer unit and preparing course codes.
*Performing affairs related to admitted students.
*Answering student questions in the field of educational affairs.
*Performing affairs related to the issuance of certificates, introduction letters, and other correspondence.
*Preparing statistics and information related to students and arranging contracts for scholarship students.
*Providing necessary reports on the status of scholarship students to the scholarship-granting institution.
*Announcing examination schedules according to the decisions made to the educational departments and supervising the end-of-term examinations.
* Receiving grade and attendance lists and sending them to the computer unit and preparing students' academic transcripts.
*Performing affairs related to unit equivalency and guiding students in the selection of courses.
*Controlling the educational status of all graduates in order to observe the division of the determined courses, controlling the earned grades, and implementing the relevant regulations.
*Issuing temporary graduation certificates.
*Preparing graduate statistics at the end of each semester and presenting them to the relevant officials.
*Sending graduation confirmations to universities and government centers.
*Maintaining the academic records of graduates.
*Performing other tasks assigned by the superior authority.
