Lorestan University will commence the academic year of Mehr 1404 with 14 new academic programs.

The Vice President for Education and Graduate Studies of Lorestan University announced: "In October of this year, this university will admit students in 14 new fields of study at the master's and doctoral levels."

According to the Public Relations of Lorestan University, Dr. Kianoush Barani-Beiranvand stated in an interview with our reporter: "The permission to establish these fields of study at the university was issued by the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology, and based on this, 57 students will be admitted at the master's level and 8 students at the doctoral level."

_ Details of the New Fields of Study

Master's:

Political Geography (Geopolitics), Arabic Translation, Microbiology (emphasis on pathogenic microorganisms), Applied Mathematics (emphasis on differential equations and mechanical systems and financial mathematics), Mechanical Engineering (emphasis on applied design and energy conversion), Rangeland Science and Engineering (emphasis on medicinal and industrial plants), Horticultural Science and Engineering (emphasis on fruit trees), Animal Science (emphasis on genetics and livestock and poultry improvement), Fisheries Science and Engineering (emphasis on aquaculture).

Doctorate:

Agrotechnology (emphasis on weed science), Water Science and Engineering (emphasis on irrigation and drainage), Nano Chemistry.

_ Current Capacity of the Fields of Study

The Vice President for Education of Lorestan University further explained: "This university currently has 48 undergraduate programs, 107 master's programs, 52 doctoral programs, and one Doctor of Veterinary Medicine program."

Referring to the importance of expanding new fields of study at Lorestan University, he emphasized: "Efforts have been made to ensure that the introduction of new fields of study aligns with regional and national scientific needs."
